Rosie's Story

Meet Rosie: A Gentle Soul Who Loves Everyone
~7 years | 18 lbs | Non-Shed | San Diego CA

Rosie is a "Velcro dog" in the best way possible. She is incredibly docile, gentle, and friendly with everyone she meets. Whether it’s a stranger on the street, a child, another dog, or even a cat, Rosie treats everyone like a long-lost friend.

Life with Rosie
• Energy Level: Wonderfully mellow. Rosie is a " an "explorer." She enjoys short walks where she can stop and sniff the roses, but she is just as happy napping in a sunbeam or roaming the backyard.
• House Training: Rosie is a total pro! She is house-trained and will whine at the door or wait patiently when she needs to go out.
• Behavior: She is a quiet girl who almost never barks. She isn't crate trained because she simply doesn't need to be—she is perfectly happy sleeping in her dog bed.
• Favorite Things: Rosie is a "foodie." She lives for treats—bully sticks, Greenies, and chicken strips are the way to her heart. She also loves car rides and being wherever her people are.

Her Ideal Home
Rosie is a "plug-and-play" dog who would fit into almost any loving environment. Because of her low energy and easy-going nature, she would be an excellent match for a senior adopter or a family looking for a calm companion.

Rosie’s Wishlist:
• A family or person who is home often to give her the attention she missed out on for so many years.
• Someone patient who understands her hearing loss (she responds best to touch and sight since she can't hear commands).
• A home with or without other pets—she gets along with everyone!

Due to years of untreated ear infections, Rosie recently underwent to remove her left canal. During her surgery a small mass on her ear was biopsied and unfortunately was a skin-cancer. Her ear flap, and the surrounding tissue were removed to give her the margins needed to ensure it was all removed. The vet was so pleased with her recovery and has given her a very encouraging prognosis for a long happy life. Because of years of untreated infections, she is very hard of hearing. However, this doesn't slow her down! She navigates the world with her nose and her heart, and she is currently thriving on a simple regimen of fish oil and a healthy diet to keep her skin glowing.

Rosie is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and microchipped.

Rosie has spent a long time waiting for someone to notice her. Now that she’s healthy and safe, she’s ready to bring her quiet joy to a forever home. Whoever adopts Rosie isn’t just getting a pet; they are getting a very special girl who will be grateful for every meal, every pat, and every day spent by your side. She will return the love she receives ten-fold. We are now accepting adoption applications for our Sweet Rosie. Apply to adopt her today at bichonrescuebrigade.org/adopt/adoption-form
