Rosie's Story

Hi there, I'm Rosie!
I'm an 11-year-old chihuahua(?) mix, a petite 15-pound lady with a sleek black coat and an even softer heart. I spent about five wonderful years with my people before they passed away, and I miss them dearly.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a total cuddlebug-truly, my happiest place in the world is curled up right next to you... or better yet, curled up on your lap. I'm a professional couch potato, but I do enjoy my daily neighborhood walks (just nothing off-leash). I'm leash trained, potty trained, crate trained, and I take a hip and joint supplement to keep me moving smoothly.

I get along well with visiting dogs and kids, and when my foster humans leave the house, I'm trusted to roam freely. At night, I sleep on the bed or in my crate-don't worry, the door stays open so I can come snuggle anytime.

I'm very protective of my home and my people, so when someone knocks or walks up to the door, I sound the alarm. But once they're inside and part of the "pack," I settle right down and become my usual sweet, affectionate self. Because of this, I'm probably not the best fit for an apartment, and I'd love a quieter home with humans who are around most of the time.

I've always been the only pet so a home where I am the one and only would suit me just perfectly!! Mostly, I want someone who doesn't mind a loyal little shadow and who enjoys snuggling on the couch watching TV with a 15-pound lovebug in their lap.

I was adored completely by my humans until they passed in August 2024 and November 2025. My foster family wants nothing more than for me to spend my golden years in another home where I'll be just as cherished-safe, cozy, comfortable, and surrounded by love.

If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who will love you with her whole heart, I'm your girl.
