Rosie's Story

Some dogs bounce back quickly. Others need someone willing to truly see them. Rosie is one of those dogs.

Meet Rosie - a beautiful 2 year old, 45 lb mixed breed girl who has spent the last 1 year and 3 months living in a boarding-style environment, waiting for someone to give her the chance she deserves.

Before coming into rescue, Rosie survived for months loose in the country, learning that the world could feel scary and uncertain. Because of that, she doesn't instantly trust new people... but honestly, can you blame her?

Rosie needs a special kind of adopter. Not perfect. Just patient.

The kind of person who understands that love isn't always immediate. That healing takes time. A home where routines stay predictable and where she's given the space to settle in at her own pace. She would thrive with a confident dog companion to help show her the ropes and reassure her that life can be safe again.

And once Rosie trusts you? Thank you for your interest in adopting from us! We are an all volunteer, 501c3 animal rescue in southeast Michigan. Our mission is to place all of our animals in loving, permanent homes. You are not purchasing a pet from us; you are adopting a living, breathing, creature that deserves safety, love and care. Your answers on the application are assurance to us that the animals we care for are going to good, permanent homes. All of the information on the application is confidential. Feline adoption fees - $125 for kittens under 8 months, $100 if over 8 months, and $60 if over 9 years old. Canine adoption fees - $350 for puppies under 1 year, $300 if over 1 year, and $200 if over 7 years old. Foster-to-adopt and Adoption fees are non-refundable. We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out our animals. Instead, we focus on best fit for each individual animal. The process is intended to ensure a long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet. Dogs can live 10-15 years, and cats can live 15-20 years, so please make sure your lifestyle allows the time, patience, and ability to cover expenses your new pet will need over the years. Will you be travelling frequently, moving soon, or having children? Responsible pet ownership includes as-needed and routine veterinary care, quality food, preventatives, and other supplies. You must be at least 21 years old to adopt. All of our adoptable animals have had a complete veterinarian checkup. Our dogs and puppies are heartworm tested. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, and have received age-appropriate vaccines before going to their forever homes.
