Henry County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Our animals are tested, vaccinated, spayed/neutered before they go home and all is included in the adoption fee!   Anyone interested in adopting a pet from HCHS must fill out an Adoption Questionnaire. The Adoption Specialists then interview the potential adopter. During the 24 hour waiting period, a background check is completed and a dog is checked for Heartworm and/or a cat is checked for feline leukemia. The Animal Care Technicians and the Adoption Specialists make sure that the best possible match between potential owner and pet is accomplished. Adoption fees include the cost to spay or neuter the animal. Dogs receive a heartworm check, DHPP vaccination (includes distempter, hepatitis, parvo & parainfluenze), physical at local veterinarian office, microchip
