Rosie's Story
Hi there! My name is Rosie and I'm a 1 year old Female Chihuahua currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home!

Rosie may not be the smallest Chihuahua you've seen, but this gal has a big heart and an even bigger personality just waiting to shine. When Rosie first arrived from an overcrowded shelter, the world seemed really big and really scary for her. She leaned on her sister a lot for comfort and has since had to learn to explore the world for her own benefit. Her sister has since found her home and Rosie has been patiently waiting for her turn. Rosie may need to take some time to warm up to "her person" but once you become that person, her true colors come out. She's energetic, curious, and loves being close to the people she knows. Whether it's following you around, exploring new smells, or just hanging out by your side, Rosie is happiest when she feels safe. She's had positive experiences with other small dogs and done well playing with them, so she may do well sharing a home with a confident dog or a home with adults only. She has also gone on offsite outings and is able to show her more confident side such as sniffing, exploring, and meeting new people with curiosity. Rosie would thrive in a home that will allow her the time and space she needs to continue building confidence. If you're the kind of person who finds joy in building those bonds, Rosie might just be for you.

Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed.

Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.

Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission.

Hope to see you soon!
