Meet Rose
We rescued Rose from the Western Riverside Shelter on the day she was set to be killed. At 10 years old, Rose has lived a hard life full of neglect. This little girl was a mess: eye infection, ear infection, arthritic paws, extremely underweight and missing hair. But what really caught our attention was the massive benign tumor hanging from her backside. Her vet estimates it had been there for years; dragging her down as she walked. We wanted to get it taken care of right away, but first we needed to get her body strong enough to go under anesthesia. It took four months of medication, tests, proper feeding, and TLC. Finally, on April 22nd, Rose’s body weight and blood work came back strong enough for her to undergo the mass removal and spay surgery.
You should see Rose now! She has a new lease on life, zooming, as much as a 10-year-old will, around the house and cuddling with her foster at night. She is so happy! She even has a pug boyfriend. Rose loves belly rubs and ear scratches. She is easy going and happy go lucky.
Rose is good with older kids and adult dogs. Too much activity overwhelms her.
Rose’s next step is adoption. Her adoption fee is $250. Rose qualifies for our Senior for Seniors program. This program offers a reduced rate for Seniors over 65 years of age ($150 adoption fee for Rose for Seniors). If you or anyone you know is interested in Rose, please fill out our Adoption Application.
