Roscoe's Story
Meet Roscoe (aka Duck) - Your Wiggly, Happy-Go-Lucky Buddy
5 Years Old 64 lbs Male American Pit Bull Terrier / American Staffordshire Mix
Is it a bird? A plane? No, it's Duck! This sweet, tan and white boy has a personality as big as his ears, and he's ready to bring joy and cuddles to a forever home.
When Duck first came to the shelter, he was stressed and scared. He lost weight, injured his face against his kennel door, and would spin in his kennel while barking at everyone who walked by.
But as soon as Duck arrived in his foster home, he became a totally new dog. In his foster home, he has blossomed into a relaxed, happy, and affectionate companion. He loves snuggling into his crate for a cozy rest, playing with his foster brother, and greeting new people with wiggly excitement.
He's still learning not to jump up when he's excited, but who could resist that enthusiasm? Duck has had limited, managed interactions with children and has done well, so with proper introductions and supervision, he could potentially live with kids.
Duck enjoys walks and hikes, and while he had leash reactivity toward other dogs in his previous home, he walks very well next to his foster brother and seems comfortable with careful introductions. He's fully housebroken, crate trained, and has even learned to use a doggy door in his foster home.
What you should know about Duck:
Fully housebroken and crate trained
Walks well on leash next to his foster brother
Loves snuggling in his crate or on the couch
Playful with dogs after proper introductions
Gentle, happy, and wiggly when greeting people
Has done well with limited, supervised interactions with children
Best suited for a home with adults or children who can match his excitement and provide love, structure, and plenty of snuggles.
Roscoe (aka) Duck is currently in foster care, please call to schedule a meet and greet
Caroline County Humane Society
407 W.
