Roscoe's Story

Meet handsome rascal Roscoe. A 3 year old blue boy with a docked tail currently weighing in at about 75 lbs. Roscoe came to GLWR as a Michigan stray. He's currently being well-fed in Grand Haven, Michigan. Roscoe gets along with other dogs - including smaller ones and is both playful and friendly. Roscoe's ideal home would be one with teenaged kids and although we think he'd be best with some canine company, he would be okay as a solo dog with an owner committed to working with Roscoe on training and leash manners (has none that we can see - big puller!). As he's still a puppy - Roscoe will require a full hour to hour and a half of exercise every day. Roscoe is crate trained and does not destroy bedding. A fenced yard would be optimal, but we think that Roscoe could be trained on an e-barrier. Most important thing to understand about Roscoe is that with an unknown history, his new family will have to have weim experience, be patient and up for working with him on training. He will need time to settle - but will be a great dog and life-long buddy.

Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Adoption Application Request  Interested in adopting? GLWR is committed to giving rescue dogs the best chance at a wonderful life.  To that end, we ask you to know these things: 1.  The application process is not instantaneous.  We are all volunteers and we move things along as quickly as possible.  We need to get to know you through the application process; just like we get to know the dogs through our intake process.  It is in the best interest of all involved that this be done correctly. 2.  We do not hold dogs.  Approved adopters have their choice of appropriate dogs for their situation.  If you see a dog on the website that you would like, we cannot guarantee that that dog will still be available once your application is approved. 3.  Note to Families with children:   Weimaraners are large, energetic dogs who need a ton of daily exercise. They can be great family dogs, but will think nothing of knocking down toddlers to get to the door, or snatch cookies from their hands.
