Rosalita's Story

Oh Miss Rosalita. This sweet girl is growing up in rescue and we cannot figure out why. She is a good girl with the happiest smile, biggest ears, and goofiest personality! She also LOVES to be the passenger princess!

Rosie is a petite pittie/border collie mix weighing just 28lbs at 7.5 months old. She is HIGH ENERGY and would do best with an active forever pawrent(s)! She is very smart and loves to exercise her body and her brain!

Rosie can be shy when meeting new people, but is really starting to come out of her shell with continued socialization! She has been enjoying her time hanging out at breweries and had her first trip to PG&Js Dog Park Bar this week!

Once she warms up Rosie is a social butterfly and quickly becomes your shadow! She will keep you laughing with her goofy shenanigans and is fantastic at entertaining herself with toys. If you meet her at an event chances are she will have her squeaky chick sidekick with her.

Rosalita is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and crate trained. She is also hard at work on leash skills and basic commands. If she sounds like perfect fit for you, apply at mispitsandfriends.org!

MisPits and Friends Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is thorough and takes time because we pour our resources, time, energy and love for the dog's future. We thank you for your time and patience throughout our adoption process. Fill out and submit an adoption application (must fill in all blanks to be submitted) including vet and personal references. We will call references and check vetting information and once you are approved, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet! This will be done at your home or we can start on more neutral ground depending on the needs of other pets. We will also complete the home check to be sure there are no concerns such as unsecure fencing, exposed wires, excessive pets in the home or neglectful conditions, or other concerns that may be unique to the specific dog. After a successful meet and greet, an adoption will be set up. If any part of an application is found to be falsified; the application will be IMMEDIATELY denied. WE DO NOT allow close in age adoptions or sibling adoptions. One year or more apart is preferred in order to alleviate behavioral issues that come from adopting too close together. WE DO NOT adopt dogs out for plans to be an emotional support animal because this can be tricky if you are not already approved. WE WILL NOT break written pet policies from landlords or rental properties. WE DO NOT process adoption applications for "secondary adopters", for example adopting a dog to be given to someone other than the applicant, as a gift. We do require all current cats and dogs in the home be spayed or neutered unless they are not for a reason verifiable by your vet. All dogs must be up to date on parvo, distemper, and rabies vaccination unless medically exempt. Rabies vaccinations MUST be administered by a veterinarian, we cannot accept home rabies vaccinations. We also do require all dogs in the home be on heartworm prevention with yearly testing. Heartworms are a silent killer, you will not know your pet is suffering until it is too late. Even inside dogs can be exposed (have you ever been bitten by a mosquito inside?) and prevention is much more inexpensive than the cost of treatment, not to mention the terrible recovery process. MisPits and Friends Rescue reserves the right to deny the adoption of any animal to anyone for any reason. The dog’s well-being and happiness are our top priority and we will choose the person/family/unit that best suits the dogs. Processing times may be longer if we get a lot of applications for the same dog. We will process the applications in the order they are received. Approval for one dog does not guarantee approval for other dogs. Applications for specific dogs will be processed before applications that do not specify a particular dog, but email any time for us to pull your app. ALL communication during the application process will be via email. Once an adopter has been found for a dog, we will not process other applications for that dog due to time constraints. We will do our best to let you know if the dog you have applied for has been adopted. At that point you may choose to apply for a different dog. Due to limited time, we may hold an application until a dog has been specified. If we receive multiple applications on an animal, MisPits and Friends will work diligently to to make the match that is best for both the animal and the adopting family. We will only schedule Meet & Greets for approved adopters. A Meet & Greet does not guarantee adoption approval. The Meet & Greet and the home visit can be scheduled at the same time if desired. The home visit is conducted as a safety check. The home visit can be scheduled at the same time as the Meet & Greet, if desired. A fence is not a requirement for ALL our dogs, but some will require a fenced yard. Our adoption application can be found at mispitsandfriends.org. A Petfinder inquiry is not an application and we will ask you to fill one out for consideration. Thank you! Before applying please think about the following questions: Do I have the time and patience for a dog and allow the dog to properly adjust to a new home? Do I have time to commit to obedience training if necessary? Do I have the money to properly care for a dog, including emergencies, quality food, routine care, and professional training if needed? Do I have a back-up, emergency, plan if something were to happen with my current living situation that would allow me to continue to care for my new dog? If you answered yes to all of those questions, then you are ready!
