Rosa's Story
Rosa's story is a heartbreaking one. She was found in the home of her owners after they were tragically murdered. She was absolutely terrified when animal control picked her up. She was reported to be grossly overweight and had bleeding in her urine. We stepped up to rescue this sweet girl and immediately got her into the vet. It was determined that she had a bladder full of stones...200 to be exact! This required immediate surgery to clear the stones. She will now require a special prescription diet for the remainder of her life. Her new family should be able to commit to this to prevent her from having this issue reoccur. She also will require more exercise and measured feedings to help her lose weight and become more active. So far she has been the best dog in her foster home. She gets along with dogs, cats and kids. She is house trained. She prefers to be loose in the house and does well. Rosa is estimated to be around 8 years old. She is becoming more playful now that she is feeling better. She would love a family that is looking for an easy going, laid back companion, content with getting belly rubs, sunbathing on the porch and taking leisure walks around the neighborhood. If you can make Rosa's last years her best, please apply to adopt!
