Rory's Story
Rory arrived at NCCR on 10/17/26, given up by her family, through no fault of her own, due to a divorce & a move. This sweet girl is a Golden Doodle/Labrador Retriever mix, nearly 1 12 years old. She is reported to be dog-friendly, and she lived with children and did fine.

Rory is house trained, enjoys chewing her toys, likes to go for walks, and rides ok in the car. She has a beautiful chocolate coat, which will require routine brushing and possibly some trimming to keep it mat-free.

More info to come as we get to know her better. She will be spayed and vaccinated before being adopted.

*Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure she is a great fit.

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you.

Not sure if you are ready to adopt? Please consider applying to foster Rory, which will lead to a happily ever after adoption, either with you, or the family you help her get ready for! Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience. Learn more and apply on our website, under the “Get Involved” tab.

If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email, as we receive many phone calls.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will not be able to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone, so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!
