Rooter's Story

Rooter is a handsome Hound Mix, believed to be born in August 2024. He was found as a stray, so much of his past is a mystery, but he’s ready for a fresh start with a loving family. True to his hound nature, Rooter is curious, smart, and always ready to follow his nose. Because he was found running at large, a fenced yard is preferred to help keep him safe while he explores. With proper introductions, Rooter could live with other dogs and older children. Although being the only pet in the home might be best. Rooter is eager to find a family that will give him guidance, patience, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with plenty of personality, Rooter may be the perfect match! Rooter is neutered, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped, wormed, and negative for heartworms.

Note: To adopt, you must live within approximately 100 miles of one of our adoption sites (Benld or Springfield IL), and be at least 18 years of age.

Note: Rooter can be selective with other dogs.
