Rooster's Story

Rooster was found as a stray and was never claimed. He looks older than he is due to the poor level of care he received prior to coming to the shelter. The staff will get him healthy and happy in no time. Rooster was so scared when first arriving, but now, he happily comes out of his kennel to go for walks (his favorite thing). He likes to play with other dogs, but he likes to chase cats. He seems to be housebroken which is great! He likes toys, but he does chew up the plushies. He will be a nice companion for someone. The Humane Society of Clinton County, Indiana's Adoption Policy
We require a "foster to adopt" program for all adopters, whether it be that the pet that you are interested in still has some medical work up to be done or whether we just want to give the pet time to adjust. An application is required to be filled out at the time of adoption. No appointment required to visit the animals during open hours. Upon finalizing adoption, each pet is current on vaccinations, altered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV test and/or heartworm tested. All animals over 7 years of age will have bloodwork performed at the vet. All known medical issues will be taken care of at the vet prior to finalizing adoption (dental cleanings, hernia repairs, mass removals, etc.).
