Ronnie's Story

Hello, my name is Ronnie!

I’m looking for my forever home! I came from a high kill shelter in California and was there for a long time. I kind of forgot my manners, so my foster family has been working very hard to help me remember.

My forever home should be with an experienced owner that will be patient and kind while retraining me. I learn quickly but I need consistency. I can be a little stubborn at times because of my Rottweiler mix.

I absolutely love walks and I do really well on the leash. Sometimes I pull but then I remember not to. I know how to sit and we are working on laying down and stay, but sometimes I get excited and stop listening.

When I meet other dogs I prefer a slow introduction but I have done really well with the other dogs I’ve met so far. As for cats I enjoy chasing them and marking their litter box. It might be best if you didn’t have any cats because I get quite excited when I see them and I scare them.

I love meeting people and have even met some kids too. I was a little hesitant with the kids but I stayed calm and let them pet me gently.

Indoors my fosters have let me sleep out and in a crate. I’m not a big fan of the crate but I’ll go in for a treat and I’m learning it’s my safe space. When I get to be left out I’m a very good boy. I don’t chew things or destroy furniture. I’m still learning to be alone and that my foster will come back for me. So sometimes I bark for a little bit and whine when I’m in my crate. My favorite is to cuddle on the couch and lay on top of my foster family. I just love being around people.
