Rona's Story

Bio:
A New Chapter for Rona: A Heartwarming Story
?Meet Rona, a resilient and loving German Shepherd Dog, with a teeny bit of Belgian Malinois, ready for her forever home. This beautiful, calm, and affectionate girl is about 8-9 years old, but her playful spirit keeps her feeling young! After spending nearly a year in a noisy shelter, Rona is thriving in her foster home where her goofy, mischievous, and loving personality is on full display. She's a perfect mix of playful energy and laid-back relaxation.

Rona is an absolute dream to walk—her foster mom has had 12 of her own dogs over the last 20 years and reports Rona is the best walker ever!

She's house-trained, great in the car, and knows basic commands like "stay", "down", "watch me". Sits automatically for her meals/treats, waits for her turn in line and has a great recall. She is all very easy to redirect and "stand down" when she's on guard duty!
?She loves a good game of "catch me if you can" with a tennis ball or stick, she gets so excited and enjoys romping around with her foster siblings. When it's time to wind down, she's super chill and happy to be a couch potato, hogging the sofa for a cuddle. Her cute little groans of contentment and loving gazes will melt your heart.
?Like most GSDs, Rona is smart and has a natural talent for scent work, agility, and obedience, making her a great teammate for someone who wants to continue her training or just have fun working together. She's also a perfect companion for all your adventures, whether it's chilling out at an outdoor cafe, or visiting and meeting new people, or going for leisurely walks. Rona would do very well as a therapy dog.
?She is currently in a foster home with four other dogs of all ages and sizes. After a slow initial introduction to the pack, she has integrated very well and just loves her siblings. She would love to be the center of someone's world, whether as your only pup or with an assertive pup. Rona's beautiful and unique spirit melts the hearts of all she meets, and is sure to capture your heart.

Rona is in Northern Virginia, and her foster mom has put a photo/video album together that you can view at the following link.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/npQ78hmxdr1UvT1JA
