Romeo's Story
Please read our Core Values prior to applying at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com/adopt/our-expectations.

Update 11/11/2025. If Romeo was a human, he would have a best human friend that he would follow around and stick close to. But he would also adjust to being a part of a larger group as in his foster home he gets along well with multiple dogs. He would take his part in activities and discussions because he is not afraid to express his own point of view. He would be protective of his home and environment, but would also be good in social situations. He and his sister, Juliet, came as a bonded pair when they were younger. Juliet has found a wonderful home and is well loved. Romeo is still waiting for that. Please consider opening your heart and home to this super affectionate guy. He would be best in a more mature home environment, one where he will get daily exercise, training and lots of love!

Update 4/25/2025. Romeo and his sister, Juliet, originally came from a shelter together. Juliet was adopted and is enjoying life in her forever home now. Romeo is still in his foster home sharing his joyful spirit with his foster family. He is almost one and a half years old and weighs about 40 pounds. His favorite past-times are going for walks, playing with his canine friends in the yard, and hanging out with his humans. He responds well to people and is a welcome guest at a local nursing home, where he greets his human friends there. If you like a snuggler, Romeo would be happy to snuggle with you and sleep in bed with you at night!

Update 1/14/2025. Romeo is still waiting for a home of his own. He lives with several other dogs and enjoys the company of both humans and dogs. He is playful and energetic and needs a lot of exercise. He attaches very strongly to the people who take care of him and he’s happy when he has the companionship of his humans. He still visits a nursing home and brings smiles to the residents. His days are filled with playing in the yard, cuddling with his humans, and napping.

Update 11/30/2024 Romeo has turned one year old! He is a happy guy, very attached to his Foster Mom and canine siblings. Romeo has never lived with kids, so we are not sure how he will do. He has never lived with cats either, so again, that is an unknown. We can test him as needed, but the best home for for Romeo will be one with another dog who will bring him comfort as he transitions from the foster family he loves so much.

Update 6/27/2024. Romeo is now about seven months old and weighs about 28 pounds. He loves life, loves people, and brings his own special kind of joy to the people he meets. Recently, he attended a yoga class with a group of participants who were very happy to meet him and greet him as he wandered around the room. He still needs some training and is active and needs lots of exercise. So a home with a family who understands that will be best for him. He certainly has plenty of love to share!

Update 4/29/2024. Romeo is one of those pups who captures the hearts of each person he meets. He’s a sweet and outgoing puppy with the ability to bring adventure and fun wherever he goes. He goes off to a nursing home on a regular basis to spend time with his elderly friends there. The residents look forward to his visits and are uplifted each time they see him. He also has attended two thons at local high schools late at night, playing with and entertaining the high school students and having lots of fun. He currently weighs about 16 pounds, a bundle of joy at 4 and a half months of age. His warm and happy spirit is contagious and he is anxious to share that spirit with a family of his own.

Posted 3/2/2024. Romeo and Juliet somehow ended up in a shelter. These sweet little pups didn’t take long to adapt to living in a foster home, playing outdoors in the yard, sleeping comfortably near their humans, and receiving lots of love and attention. Romeo is about 11 weeks old and weighs about 10 pounds. He’s full of energy and fun and keeps his humans active and busy! Nothing is known about his background, but he is very comfortable and relaxed with humans so there are no signs that he was mistreated in the past. He loves to be outdoors, playing and digging in the yard. At night time, he’s happy to settle sleeping next to his sister and near his humans. Romeo will do best in a home with family members who are not away from him for long periods of time. He still needs some guidance with housebreaking and crate training. So we are looking for a home where family members are not away more than four hours in a day. If you want a furry companion who will be your best friend and hang out with you, this little boy would do that. He loves being close to his people and is good with all ages, including children. He also does very well with other dogs. He will be ready for adoption soon.

Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under ADOPT tab. Contact generalinfo@furryfriendsnetwork.com for questions or if issues are encountered with the adoption application or general adoption process.

Foster Homes are desperately needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. To find out more about becoming a Foster Parent, see our website at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under VOLUNTEER tab.

As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption.

In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare.

Pet ID: Stephanie G
PA Kennel License # 5011
