Roger's Story
Roger. Such a serious name. Roger doesn't want to be called Roggie, or Rog. You see, Roger has things to do and people to meet. Our Roger is all about business.

Roger is a 35 lb, approximately 9 month old heeler mix puppy. He comes to us after being found stray, emaciated and covered in fleas. The shelter did a great job of fattening him up a bit, but due to his heart murmur, they felt he needed some more care. So we happily stepped in.

Good news; Roger's murmur is resolved and was likely due to being anemic from all of his fleas. The fleas are gone too, and his hair is growing back beautifully meaning he is ready for his forever home.

Roger is a delightfully smart puppy that is eager to please and learn. He may not be for the first time dog owner. He is also not for someone without the time to train him. You see, as we said before, Roger is all about business. If he is not employed in the business of training and exercise, he will get right to his side business of mischief.

Roger is working on his crate and potty training. He does have the occasional accident in the house and can get vocal in the crate by himself. But he is working on it and has made huge improvements. In fact, he already know the command “kennel” and goes in perfectly on his own.

We would love to see Roger go to an active person who is excited about having a smart dog to work with. Roger would love a yard and plenty of time with his person. Roger is great with other dogs, but we have not seen him with cats. He’s still a bit mouthy, being a puppy, so older kids may be best.

Like all of our Stumptown Strays, Roger is current on his flea and heartworm prevention. Roger is neutered and fully vaccinated.

Does this busy man seem like a good fit for you? Then apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org.
