Rocky Road's Story
I'm a scruffy little guy who needs lots of love & understanding!

I am a little, cute scruffy guy who has had a rough start in life. I'm 16 pounds. My human socialization skills are very sadly lacking and I have a very hard time trusting humans. I'd need a human who understands that and will help build my confidence. I am required to go to a home with another dog.

General Socialization Notes:
Humans are hard for me and I will need someone who will help me learn to trust. I currently can't be touched and am just starting to be able to take treats directly from my foster momma's hand (vs being tossed). I can be very sensitive to my humans 'body language / body pressure'. I really like having a routine and will sometimes not eat if it is not being followed. I don't have a lot of cool skills like sit or lay down, as we have been focused on general socialization behaviors. However, I can be leashed (using my catch tab that I always wear) and will follow you while on leash. I'm also wicked good at going to my crate and am really reliable with my potty habits.

Does Rocky Road like other animals?
I like other dogs and am REQUIRED to go to my forever home with at least one other dog. I play well with all of the dogs that I've met so far. Cats are pretty ok in my book too, although I occasionally will chase them if they run, but I really do not mean them any harm, I just want to have a little fun.

Does Rocky Road like children?
I may not do well with children. I would prefer a home with older humans who will help me trust.

Favorite Toys:
I like toys and do a great job helping to pull them out of the bucket. I'm too scared to actually play fetch as I have to return the ball to the human, but I have a grand time chasing after a ball or even chasing another dog playing fetch.

Ideal Forever Home:
I desperately need a human to help me with general human socialization and learn to like being touched. I need to be in a home with a yard, as walks in the public are not the best idea for me and I love to run. Apartment living would not work for me, as I can be loud in my crate, especially when my human comes home or when I need to go potty.
