Rocky's Story
Rocky is currently living and training with his handlers at Beaumont Correctional Center.

Through a partnership with the Virginia Department of Corrections, Pixie's Pen Pals (a program of FETCH a Cure) places homeless dogs in the care of incarcerated people for dedicated, individualized training and socialization guided by canine behavior specialists.

The bio below was provided by his handlers at Beaumont Correctional:

I’m the newest arrival at Beaumont CC and I strutted in to my new digs like I was always meant to be here. I’m an 8 year old beagle with plenty of spunk and sweetness and a burning desire for yummy treats, so I should learn my new skills very quickly. I’m friendly with other dogs (though I don’t appreciate the young whippersnappers who want to tower over me and play too rough), and I love every person I meet. Apparently, my charming face and gentle demeanor makes me irresistible to most people. I’ve been through heartworm treatment and recently had some benign lumps removed, so I’m looking forward to some loving and good times while in the program. Oh, and treats. I’ll send un update after I’ve had a bit more time in the program.
