ROCKY--ADOPTION PENDING's Story
Rocky:
age: 1 year old
weight: 7.5 lbs
Location: Vaughan ontario
Adoption donation: $675

Here’s Rocky!

An energetic one-year-old pup who’s ready to find his forever home.

While he may come across as timid or nervous at first and sometimes barks at strangers, Rocky quickly reveals his true self—a happy young dog who loves to zoom around, explore, and show off his playful side. He enjoys chasing balls, tug-of-war, snuffle mats, tossing his stuffies, and—of course—mealtimes. When he’s had his fill of fun, he happily settles in for snuggles, ear scratches, and naps.

Rocky is walked several times a day for bathroom breaks and to give him the chance to burn off energy and indulge in his love of sniffing and exploring the outdoors. At first, he was reactive seeing people and dogs on walks, but with proper coaching, he’s grown much more comfortable. Now, he often passes by others calmly without any reaction and is a pleasure to walk.

Like all adolescent pups, Rocky is still learning his manners and will thrive with an adopter who understands that building trust takes time and who can offer him steady routines, gentle guidance, and fear-free training. He would do well in a home with older, respectful children and with someone who isn’t away all day. A home with young children would not be suitable for Rocky as he tends to be alarmed by sudden fast movement, loud noise, yelling, etc.

In the right environment and with the right adopter, Rocky will blossom into the loyal, joyful companion he’s meant to be. He would do well as the only dog in the adopter’s home or with a dog that has a similar energy level. He may become a nuisance to a senior or a low-energy dog. In addition, a home with a fenced backyard would be ideal for Rocky.

NOTE: Rocky recently had surgery for ‘cherry eye’ and has healed very well from the procedure. To reduce the risk of any reoccurrence, Rocky must wear a harness when being walked as opposed to a collar to ensure there is no pressure on his neck.

Rocky has had a veterinarian wellness check, he is microchipped, neutered, administered flea/tick prevention meds, and is up to date on his vaccinations.
Maria
