ADOPT ROCKY<br/><br/>ROCKIN' ROCKY is just like the famous character that Sylvester Stallone made so popular in the ROCKY movie franchise. He is full of heart, spirit, and determination. The boxer Rocky in the movies was a lefty, a "south paw." I guess you could say our ROCKY is a "north ear!". One always pointing straight up. ROCKY was pulled from a shelter by a rescue in Texas and then fell through the cracks, ending up in boarding for almost a year. They took good care of him, but due to the lack of appropriate socialization, he became reserved and fearful.<br/><br/>The Rescue Express rescued him from that situation and we are committed to finding him a wonderful home. ROCKY is a very handsome shepherd mix, 3 years old, 55 pounds, neutered. Because he is a special boy, he will need a special home. He is currently going through a 6 week course with a professional trainer in Hodgenville, KY area. We are hoping to find his forever home in that general area, although transport could be provided if a home was farther away.<br/><br/>By the end of his training, Rocky will have mastered the following commands:<br/><br/>Sit <br/>Down <br/>Place (stay)<br/>Come (recall)<br/>Heel (walks calmly, under control, with handler)<br/>Out (out of your mouth, get away from that, and/or mind your business) <br/>Off (get off that)<br/>Up (get on that) <br/>Kennel (get in crate) <br/>No - Audible negative <br/>Yes/good - audible positive<br/><br/>The focus is on obedience training and behavior rehab for pet dogs and owners. His trainer is focused on teaching him to make good choices on his own, to access a calm and relaxed state of mind, and live harmoniously with his owner as his leader and guide.<br/><br/>Anyone interested in Rocky is more than welcome to visit him at the training facility to get to know him. Rocky's ideal home would be with no other pets or kids and with a patient, experienced owner who would be committed to continued training if needed.
