Rocky's Story
Meet Rocky! He is a beautiful 3.5 yr old GSD weighing about 80 pounds.
Rocky is hesitant with new people and takes time to warm up, once he likes you, he is ALL in, and a silly happy boy. If you are looking for and easy pop in type dog to come along with you everywhere, he is not your boy, but if you have patience to let him trust you and continue to learn - you are perfect for him!

Rocky was caught in a neighborhood and taken to shelter, he was very scared and it was not a good experience for him which also resulted in unfavorable notes at the shelter. A volunteer took interest in him and after a few days of spending some time with him he opened up and showed his happy and affectionate side. Just when things started to look up, he got sick with an upper respiroty infection, lost weight and it went from bad to worse within a week and was listed for euthanasia. We stepped in and rescued him and he went straight to hospital to quickly find out it had developed into pneumonia. After a few days he started to recover and could leave the hospital safely to go to his foster home for continued care.

It took a good month to get him back to healthy and good weight and he was ready to start learning more about life. His social skills with dogs got better and better and he is now great with dogs. He is meeting people and is fine with them but does not seek affection until he feels ready. He bonds tight with his main person and is fun, happy, cuddly and loving.

He is crate trained and house trained, rides great in the car and is slowly but surely working on his leash walking skills.

Rocky needs to live in a house with a yard and would not do well in apartment style living. A friendly companion dog would be amazing!

He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped. He is not at all destructive inside the home or out in yard and is used to be home alone with no issues.

We adopt our dogs in the greater LA area and nearby cities. Our adoption procedure and fees are described in our online adoption application.

To inquire, and/or set up a meeting with Rocky, start by filling out application (copy and paste link): https://bluemandog.org/adoption-application/
