Rocky's Story

Rocky is a 2-year-old, 62 lb Pit Bull with a big smile, big personality, and even bigger confidence. He was surrendered along with his brother when their owner could no longer afford their care. Rocky lived with other dogs and has the same outgoing, social nature as Rascal — but with an extra boost of “I’ve got this” confidence.

He is extremely food-motivated (capital E Extremely) and will happily show off his best manners for anything edible. Like many dogs who didn’t always have enough, Rocky gets very excited around meals, so we recommend feeding him separately from other dogs to keep things peaceful and predictable.

Rocky spent a lot of time outside, so he’s still adjusting to indoor routines again. He keeps his kennel tidy and is doing great, but he will need patience, consistency, and time to decompress as he settles into a new home environment. Once he trusts you, he becomes a joyful, wiggly, happy dog who wants to be part of everything you do.

Rocky is a confident, energetic, affectionate boy who will thrive with structure, routine, and someone who enjoys a big personality in a medium-sized dog. He’s the perfect match for adopters who love a dog with enthusiasm, smarts, and a whole lot of charm.

He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed, and current on vaccines, flea/tick prevention, and monthly preventatives.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
