Rocky Boxer & Bull Terrier Mix Birmingham, AL

Rocky came to Uno's Home after a Good Samaritan found him starved and in bad shape at Lake Martin. His wounds were indicative of a bait dog and radiographs showed he had rocks in his stomach... Hence the name Rocky. A few days later he underwent exploratory surgery to remove the rocks... and asphalt... and BARBED WIRE. What this poor boy went through... He has made a full recovery and has put on much needed weight. He currently lives in a household with cats and dogs of all sizes. I describe him as a "bulldozing hippo" because he is so silly when he plays outside and loves to jump up on me for hugs which is why I recommend a household without any young children; I would hate for him to accidentally knock a young child over. Having a dog his size would be ideal since he loves to romp around and play, but not required. Rocky is crate trained and will go into his crate willingly to sleep even with the door open when I'm home. Because he loves yard time, a fenced-in yard in required. If you have a dog or dogs, I would like to make sure everyone gets along first since he is a former bait dog and a dog with a very dominant personality might be triggering for him. He can be unsure of new surroundings but with proper encouragement and patience, he'll grow more confident (he still will only stay in one half of my house and refuses to go down the hallway).

Rocky is fully vaccinated, on heartworm prevention, and on flea & tick prevention.
