Rocky's Story

Rocky! Rocky is a German Shepherd, 1 year old and around 70 lbs (we do not believe he will get bigger). Rocky is a high to medium energy dog who loves to hang out and play with his person/people. He is super smart and learns very quickly!

Please read all about Rocky (below), if you feel you are a good match for him and want to meet him, please complete an application found on our website, we prefer to adopt Rocky into the Portland area.
www.mywayhomedogrescue.org

Rocky is a dog that loves his people. He has learned many tricks in his foster home and you can see his mind clicking away when you are training. Rocky has ignored the dogs in his foster home and prefers to hang with his foster humans. He is house trained, leash trained, can sit, shake and wait for his food. Rocky will need a secure crate and will bark when you leave him behind if you need to leave. He does settle and is happiest when left with a chewy or food puzzle to keep him occupied.

Rocky’s perfect home will have a person(s) who loves a smart and high energy dog and they have time to train and hang out with him. Rocky loves to catch a tennis ball (or any game you want to teach him). Continuing his training is a MUST! We expect him to be too interested in cats to live with them and we think he would do best with older kids only (over 10). Rocky will be happiest as a single dog in the household.

Rocky is a dog that needs his mind exercised, he is a working dog through and through. He needs games or training everyday to make him happy.

Rocky has had vaccinations, is neutered, de-wormed, had flea treatment, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $350

Our Mission
We are a small group of volunteers located in and around Portland, OR, helping one dog at a time. Dogs are housed in volunteer foster homes to assess their behavior and level of training, and to develop their basic social skills. They often have exposure to other pets and people that they would not get in a shelter setting....
