Rocko's Story

Rocko is an 8–9 month old pup who has already overcome a lot. He spent his entire early life isolated in a backyard with very little human contact, often locked in a small crate, which left him unsure about the world — but also incredibly ready to learn once he was given kindness and structure.

Since rescue, Rocko has completed a board & train program and has been living in a local foster home where he’s learning what it means to be safe, guided, and cared for. With consistency, he settles quickly and becomes deeply bonded to his people. He is affectionate, *incredibly* loyal, and loves being close to his humans. He has been a super quick study and come so far from the scared, completely unsure puppy we first met. He's already a great dog, and with a forever home he will absolutely be someone's soul dog. His foster family loves him and so does everyone at the Ranch, dogs included.

Rocko is:
– People-friendly, needs more people to hold his leash over-all, and loves positive attention
– Great with kids, needs clear adult leadership in the home
– Super social and playful with other dogs (at least one dog companion is ideal, Rocko would not like to be the only dog)
– Smart, sensitive, and eager to keep building confidence
– Playful and sweet once he feels secure (doesn’t take too long at all!!)

Rocko does best with:
– A puppy friendly home
– Continued training, daily routines, and social exposure
– A well-built crate and continued feeding/fun in it
– Daily mental and physical enrichment -- this can be engagement on walks, playtime, group training, hiking, etc
– No cats

Rocko comes with ongoing support, including group training classes twice a week with his professional trainer. He’s a young dog who missed out on early life experiences, but he’s catching up so well/quickly and is ready for a home that will continue helping him grow into the more confident, loving companion he already has become.
