Rocket- Project Homebound's Story

Why Choose Me?
Rocket is a friendly guy with the sweetest eyes. His ears are cropped, but he's not a tough guy--he's a sweetheart! When he first entered the interaction pen, he was all about checking out all the new scents. Once he'd had his fill, he was ready to spend time with me. He hopped on the picnic table to see what I had there and enjoyed pets and scratches. When he jumped down, he was happy to sit or pose on the bench for treats. He had so many treats on the bench, that it became his go-to place to let me know when he was ready for more. Rocket is a nice dog. The person that brought him to the shelter said he's respectful and house trained. Sadly, Rocket has heartworms. If he's not reclaimed, he'll only be available to rescue, foster, or foster-to-adopt. Once he's treated for his heartworms, he'll also be available for adoption.

You can read more about this dog and check out additional photos here: https://www.accgov.com/9482/Dogs

The adoption fees, shelter schedule, a description of the rescue and adoption process, and a list of included vetting can be found at https://athenspets.net/adoption-rescue-process.

This dog is available for adoption through Athens-Clarke County Animal Services, located at 125 Buddy Christian Way, Athens, GA.
