Robin German Shepherd Dog & Pharaoh Hound Mix Norman, OK

Meet Robin. She is a 1.5 year old, large mixed breed dog. Robin came from a local shelter absolutely skin and bones with multiple nasty wounds. We saw the beauty underneath the zombie looking dog and brought her home. She has since gained 20lbs but is still rather skinny. We believe that is the lanky German shepherd in her. She is medium-high energy and will burn off any fat you put on her if you let her run to her hearts content!

Robin is crate trained and house trained. She does not require a crate and often sleeps in the fosters living room at night and stays out most of the day. She is crated whenever the foster may be gone for longer periods of time. Robin is fairly leash trained. Being younger, she does have the tendency to still pull when excited so she will need continued training.

We don’t know Robin’s exact mix. We believe she is German Shepherd, maybe Greyhound, and who really knows what else. What we do know is she needs a home that can provide her with a healthy outlet for her energy. This can be playing in a large backyard, going on walks, visiting the dog park, or using puzzles and snuffle mats inside.

Robin is a very friendly dog. She hasn’t had any issues with any of her foster siblings. She can be nervous during a first meet but warms up quickly. She currently does not live with any children but has met some and has been okay with them. Robin does not currently interact with any cats. She has been introduced to a couple briefly but she is such a big puppy she is not left alone with cats. Robin does participate in the occasional barn hunt practice so small animals are not recommended unless they are secure.

Robin is a wonderful addition to any home. She will be fiercely loyal and provide all the love you’ll ever need.
