Robert (Neutered) (In Foster to Adopt)

Robert is a handsome 5-year old male Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on April 13, 2024 after he had been found on Pike Street in Marietta Ohio (in the area behind the Lowe's Home Improvement Store and Subway). Thankfully there were compassionate employees/customers who saw him and kept a watchful eye out for his safety (and provided food/water as well). Robert was reported to have been wearing a collar and the remnants of a leash. He was scanned for a microchip at HSOV but, unfortunately, no chip was detected.<br/><br/>This beautiful boy has a tan coat, a long tail, and a gorgeous Shepherd face with expressive brown eyes, black shading on his muzzle, a splash of white on his chin, and large erect ears.<br/><br/>Robert was real gentlemen who posed like a professional when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver spent time with him for outdoor photos on April 14th, and he treated us to some majestic shots from all angles.<br/><br/>Robert weighs 58 lbs and walked fairly well on a leash for Emily.<br/><br/>In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Robert will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.<br/><br/>Robert spent the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend (November 27 thru December 2, 2024) with a foster family and was 'a very good boy'. He did chase cats in the family's home but it was unclear whether he was intending to hurt them or was merely playing with them.<br/><br/>Update: Robert was neutered on January 3, 2025.<br/><br/>Happy Update: Robert went home with a foster family on March 12, 2026 who plans to adopt him if all goes well.<br/><br/>Robert did GREAT in his foster family's home, and he got along fabulously with their dog (who looked like Rober't twin) (smile). Robert was officially adopted by his new family on March 24, 2026.
