Robbins's Story

This sweet boy came to us after being rescued from inhumane conditions, where he was living with approximately 30 other dogs. Understandably, he was very fearful when he first arrived. Although he was nervous, he allowed handling during his intake and has continued to make progress since then.

During his time at the shelter, he gradually began approaching volunteers and allowing handling from people he became familiar with. He also spent time in a foster home while recovering from a gastrointestinal illness. At first, he was unsure of his foster and would avoid them and bark when they approached. After several days, however, he began to feel more comfortable and allowed handling.

In his foster home, he was independent around both small and large resident dogs. He may initially be fearful in a new home and will need patience, time, and space to build confidence and learn that he is safe.

He is looking for a patient adopter who understands that trust doesn't happen overnight. With consistency, kindness, and a little time, he has already shown that he can make wonderful progress.

His behavior around children is currently unknown, so introductions and interactions with children should be approached thoughtfully.
