Robbie's Story

COURTESY POST
**NOT A CRASH FUND DOG**

Hi! My name is Robbie. I’m a handsome neutered male black & silver German Shepherd mix. I was born on January 1, 2023. My previous owner lost the right to have me due to extreme neglect. When I was rescued, you could see my ribs and hip bones. The Veterinarian said I was close to 20% underweight. My foster home made sure I received the best food and in large quantities, so I have filled out beautifully. I now weigh about 74lbs with good muscle mass.

I am strong, and I can sprint very fast. But to be completely honest, I prefer to be a couch potato. I’m not exaggerating. If I sprint, it is usually back to the house so I can take a nap.

I can be protective, so I might bark at someone who appears to be a threat. People walking outside my house that I can see through the window can be scary for me and I always bark at them until my foster mom tells me “Enough”. I might make a good family guard dog!

I have lived with older children, and I am comfortable with them. I don’t have experience with younger children.

I was rescued by a very kind man and jumped right into his truck cab when he invited me. I was so tired I fell into a deep sleep even before he drove a mile. I really liked the man. However, I am shy with other men when I first meet them. A quiet, gentle approach wins me over quickly. I adore all women on my first introduction.

I am kennel and crate trained. I love both. I have learned sit, down, load up, sit-stay, and leave-it. I have learned a lot with patience and treats. I am very smart. While I do take a bit of time to warm up to other dogs, I do best with female dogs and have a great time playing with them. I probably can’t be trusted with cats at all.

If you would like to meet me, please send a message to CrashFundInc@gmail.com. While I am not a Crash Fund dog, they kindly offered to help find my new family. If you would, please share my story to your friends and family. The more kind people who know about my search for a loving home, the faster the right one comes along. Thank you!

We take our stewardship seriously. That means being very thorough when it comes to screening potential adopters. We go the extra mile. We will not place dogs unless a home check is completed and multiple references are verified. Shuffling dogs through multiple homes is something we prevent by making sure we take the time to find the best for for the dog and the adopter. We follow our dogs from the day of their intake with us. We maintain excellent relationships with all of our adopters and follow them throughout their lives.
