Meet ROBBIE

Hola! My name is ROBBIE (they call be "Rabito" in Mexico, which means "Little Tail") and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

Breed: Lab mix
Age: 1 year
Gender: male
Weight: 49 lbs (22.5 kg)
Length (nose to butt): 82cm
Height (paws to top of head): 74.5cm
Current Location: MEXICO CITY

RESCUE STORY - I was born on the streets of Mexico and was found severely malnourished, along with my two sisters (Mimosa and Carla) when we were only one month old. Living on the streets was so scary and we were so happy to have been rescued! You can learn more about my heartbreaking rescue by watching this video. I required extensive vet care after I was rescued. As you can see, I'm quite the little fighter to have survived all I went through!

TEMPERAMENT - I am told that I am a lovely, friendly and sweet doggo! I love to get affection from my humans and to play with my siblings and other dogs I meet. My foster mum has been working with me on my leash skills and I am really improving! I am calm and well-mannered when out for walks.

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium energy. I have matured and am out of my hyper-puppy phase, but still have energy to play with you!

GETS ALONG WITH:

Kids Yes. I have met with kids on walks and am happy to receive pets!
Dogs I get along well with the other dogs at my foster. Check out my videos to see! I would do best in a home with another friendly dog playmate to help me build my confidence!
Cats Unknown

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

Leash skills Good. I have been working with my foster on leash skills and am calm and well mannered in walks. I currently live in a suburban environment and so don't have much exposure to busy urban settings. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help me to continue my success! Here I am going for a walk!
House training Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

When I was first rescued, I was severely malnourished and had parasites. My tail had been cut off on the streets. I had wounds and incredibly swollen glands. My chance of survival was low, however my foster family made sure I got all the care I needed. Although my progress was slow, I got stronger and stronger every day and somehow, I survived! I am a healthy boy now, don't worry.
I am neutered and have received all of my puppy vaccinations! I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $840.00 including taxes (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
