Robbie's Story
Meet Robbie — Your Pocket‑Sized Retirement Buddy
If you’ve ever dreamed of having a tiny, distinguished gentleman as a roommate, allow us to introduce Robbie. This 7‑pound Yorkie is somewhere between 10–12 years old, but he’s rocking his golden years with the confidence of a dog who knows he’s adorable and fully intends to use that to his advantage.

Robbie is blind and mildly hard of hearing, which means he approaches life with a “please carry me, I’m delicate” energy — and honestly, he’s not wrong. Navigating new spaces can be tricky for him, so he’s happiest when he’s tucked safely in your arms or snuggled up next to you on the couch. Think of him as a tiny, fuzzy king who prefers to be chauffeured.

Once he’s settled in, Robbie’s favorite pastime is napping on the couch. He’s a quiet, easygoing little guy who doesn’t need much to be happy — just a soft blanket, a warm lap, and someone who appreciates the charm of a senior dog who snores like it’s his full‑time job.

Robbie is crate trained or can be left out with a diaper/belly band, making him a pretty low‑maintenance housemate. He does need regular grooming to keep his handsome Yorkie locks in check, but he’s a perfect gentleman for the groomer. Most of his teeth have been removed, so he prefers a softer diet — but don’t worry, he still eats with enthusiasm and zero shame.

This little man gets along well with other dogs, big or small, and would likely be just fine with cats too. He’s in good health for his age and isn’t on any medications or special diets right now, which makes him an easy senior to welcome into your home.

Robbie isn’t looking for adventure or excitement — he’s looking for comfort, companionship, and a forever home where he can enjoy his retirement in peace. So he would prefer a home w/o small children. He’s the kind of dog who will make you smile just by existing. He’ll curl up beside you, snooze through your favorite shows, and remind you every day how rewarding it is to love a senior pup.

If your heart has room for a tiny, gentle soul who wants nothing more than to be your loyal little shadow, Robbie is ready to pack his bags (okay, his blanket) and move in. Please consider giving this sweet boy the cozy forever home he deserves.

If you would like to meet this great old dog in person, please contact The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs to arrange a meeting. The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs holds Adoption Sunday on the last Sunday of the month (excluding holidays) from 2-4 PM at our Adoption & Education Center, 4860 Broadview Road in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. Drop by to meet our adoptable dogs. You just might find a new old friend!

Old Dogs, Great Friends!
