Meet Roar! <br/><br/>Roar is a 2-year-old Chihuahua with a heart that's ready to learn what it means to be truly loved. Before coming to rescue, he survived by living outside on his own. Because of his difficult past, the world can still feel like a scary place, and he's looking for a patient family willing to help him continue building confidence.<br/><br/>Roar graduates from the Puppies for Parole program on August 7 and is ready to begin his next chapter with a forever family.<br/><br/>He has formed a very strong bond with his handler and thrives with someone he trusts. Roar knows all of his basic commands, enjoys showing off his tricks, and is a smart little dog who loves having a job to do. He gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a home with children over the age of 10 who understand how to respect his space.<br/><br/>Because of his background, Roar has very limited social skills and can be extremely fearful when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations. He also struggles with separation anxiety, so he'll need a family that can give him time, patience, and consistency as he adjusts. With a predictable routine and positive reinforcement, Roar continues to make wonderful progress.<br/><br/>The family who gives Roar a chance won't just be adopting a dog-they'll be giving a survivor the safe, loving home he's never had.
