Meet Rizzo
Meet Rizzo, a delightful 6-year-old Shepherd mix weighing 50 pounds. Originally in a loving home, Rizzo is seeking a new family due to his owners' health. Dog-friendly and accustomed to living with a cat, Rizzo is a house-trained companion with a few transitional accidents expected as he adjusts to a new routine.
In the crate, Rizzo feels more at ease with his canine foster sister, displaying a bit of nervousness when alone. He thrives on companionship and enjoys being close to his people and canine friends. Rizzo's favorite pastimes include walks, car rides, lounging around the house with his family, and playful moments in the yard with his foster sister.
An intelligent pup, Rizzo has mastered basic commands such as sit, shake, and down, and is currently working on stay and crawl. While he may jump for hugs, he does so gently. It's worth noting that Rizzo is a door darter, especially if another dog is in sight, and has the skill to open a storm door. Caution is advised to ensure his safety indoors.
Ideal for a home with kids over the age of 10, Rizzo may find younger kids' exuberant play a bit too exciting. Described as an amazing dog by his foster parents, Rizzo is ready to bring joy to his future adopter's life. If you feel that Rizzo could be the perfect addition to your family, don't hesitate to apply today. His adoption fee is a minimum of $145, with an additional $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents aged 4 months or older.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at:
