River was surrendered to a county shelter because his owner had surgery and realized he could no longer handle a puppy. Poor River did absolutely nothing wrong and still ended up homeless. We spotted his adorable face and decided to help him. Now we’re committed to finding River a “real” forever family. <br/><br/>Since River has been with us, we’ve learned he’s a very well-behaved boy. He is kennel/crate trained, knows some basic commands, and loves people. He’s good on a leash, but can be a bit uncomfortable with loud noises while walking. With a little encouragement from his walker, he will happily continue on his adventure. River loves the water and is sure to make you laugh when he chases the hose. He has several play buddies at our shelter and plays well with other dogs. This sweet boy is going to be a wonderful companion; he’ll happily join in on a hike, a lunch, or any other adventure.
