River is a 1 year old terrier mix. Poor girl has had a rough life so far. She was found on the interstate with her siblings and she was the only one to survive the ordeal. She landed in a rural county kill shelter before coming to Sparky. She came broken, scared, and shut down to say the least. She went immediately to a foster home who has taught her how to dog again and worked on her confidence. She has done well learning to potty outside and does great in her kennel. She loves to play with toys and play outside. She lives with other dogs and a cat. She definitely needs a confident dog who she can learn from, but also play with. River has come really far since the end of December, but would benefit working with a trainer after she is adopted. She will need time to adjust to her new home and new family, she still can be skiddish and unsure about things. Time and love will go a long way.
