Rio's Story

Rio is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old tripod who doesn’t let anything slow him down. He has a medium energy level and enjoys playing chase with other dogs in the yard, as well as a good game of tug-of-war. Rio currently lives in a pack of six medium-to-large dogs and gets along well with both males and females.

He is house trained, crate trained, and can be trusted uncrated when left alone. Rio is generally quiet and only vocalizes occasionally—most often when he hears his person coming home or during mealtime excitement.

Rio has been wonderful with children, including middle school–aged kids, and is a true snuggle bug who loves curling up on the couch with his people. He is very people-oriented and shows mild separation anxiety, preferring to stay close and check in often.

Rio lives calmly around birds kept up high and has not yet been tested with cats. He is fully vaccinated and ready to find his forever home.

Rio would do well in a home with dogs, men and women, and children ages 3 and up and would thrive with a family ready to give him the love, companionship, and stability he deserves.
