While Rio was deeply loved, her medical care was unfortunately limited in recent years. She is already spayed, and her current caregiver is working to bring her up to date on her rabies vaccination so she can begin her next chapter healthy and safe.<br/><br/>Rio is everything you’d hope for in a companion—mild-mannered, incredibly smart, and wonderfully adaptable. She is great with cats and children, making her a fantastic addition to many types of homes. Even more special, Rio appears to have been trained to assist with tasks like opening doors, likely helping her previous owner in meaningful ways. Adopters must complete an application including references. Vet and personal references are checked A home check is completed The dog is brought to the house for a visit before completion of adoption. Adoption agreement must be completed. Followup contact is made to ensure the dog is doing well in the home.
