Meet Riggs
Riggs is estimated to be around two and a half years old old. He is estimated to be a Cane Corso mix. He was found with Harley, completely emaciated, after being dumped from someone's vehicle in a park. A good samaritan saw this happen, and helped to get both dogs to safety. When Riggs was found, he weighed less than 60 pounds, but has been able to put on weight back on and he looks great!
Riggs is good with other dogs, but he will protect his food bowl if another dog is trying to take it from him. He will also growl to protect Nylabones or chews. Can't really blame him coming from the environment that he did.
Riggs is the shy guy and was very scared at first. He stayed mostly to his kennel or venturing a small area around. He still runs to hide in his kennel if he is scared or spooked by anything.
He is very unsure of slippery floors and wood steps. It took him weeks to come around to using the stairs to go outside in his foster home. At first he was using some potty pads, but is now going outside to do his business since he's more comfortable. He doesn't always want to go outside and will try to run back to his kennel if anything scares him. Riggs is going to need patience and understanding, and a refresher on house training in a new home.
He is currently living with a fenced yard.
Due to Riggs being as shy as he's been, we do not want to place Harley or Riggs in a home with young kids. Kids recommended age 7 and up who are used to being around dogs . They also need to have a fenced in yard. They have not been cat tested.
Riggs is a super sweet boy and once he can warm up to you a bit, he will cover you with kisses.
Adoption fee is $350 + tax (no checks)

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.
Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
