Rigel 's Story

Rigel is a little over 1.5 years old (born 3/23/24).
When we first took him in, he was one of 17 puppies from two combined litters. Because the puppies looked so similar and arrived all at once, adopters became overwhelmed — making it harder for individual pups to stand out. Through no fault of his own, Rigel is one of the last remaining puppies from those litters and is still waiting for his forever home.

Rigel is a sociable, outgoing “adolescent” who loves making friends and exploring the world around him. He and his best buddy Roscoe are an adorable duo, and Rigel is always eager for adventures — especially if it involves climbing onto boulders, benches, or anything he can pose on for a photo. He has a fun, confident personality and enjoys being part of the action, whether it’s meeting new people or showing off his latest “mountaintop” picture spot.

Rigel would thrive in a home that appreciates his playful spirit and his love for companionship, both human and canine.

Rigel will be available for adoption at the Tucson Petco
📍 11985 N Oracle Road (Oro Valley Marketplace)
🕒 Saturdays from 11 AM–2 PM

Please message us ahead of time so we can be sure to bring him, as we don’t typically bring all of our available animals to every event.

Adoption fee: $25
Rigel is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his booster shots.

Come say “Hi” and spend some time with him — you may discover he’s the perfect rock climbing companion you’ve been looking for!

If you’re able — and willing — to take both Rigel and Roscoe we will waive the adoption fees.
