Riff Raff 2148's Story

Hi! I'm Riff Raff.

But if we're being formal, you can call me Riffle Raffle. My friends call me Riffles. My closest friends call me Riffy.

Honestly, I'll answer to just about anything if it comes with pets.

I'm somewhere between 5 and 7 years old, 85 pounds of pure mixed-breed perfection, and I wake up every morning convinced it's going to be the best day ever.

You know those people who laugh at their own jokes? That's me, but in dog form.

The girls at the shelter say I make them laugh every single day. Sometimes it's because of my giant smile. Sometimes it's because I carry tiny stuffed toys around like they're precious babies. Sometimes it's because I try to curl myself into dog beds clearly designed for dogs half my size.

What can I say? I like to stay humble.

One thing you'll notice right away is that I'm always smiling. Seriously. If happiness had a mascot, I'd like to submit my application.

I love walks, car rides, toys, couch naps, and spending time with my people. If you're sitting down, there's a good chance I'll be nearby. If you're standing up, I'll probably be nearby too. If you're moving around the house, congratulations-you've acquired a very large shadow.

I love affection and lean in with my whole heart when someone scratches my ears or tells me I'm handsome. Which, for the record, I never get tired of hearing.

I'm house-trained, kennel-trained, and trustworthy enough to be left out of a kennel. I'm not destructive. In fact, my biggest challenge is deciding which comfy spot to nap in next. Large dog bed? Small dog bed? Couch? Human bed? The possibilities are endless.

I get along wonderfully with female dogs and would absolutely love a canine shelter sister. Playing together, going for walks together, taking naps together-sounds pretty perfect to me. Cats, however, are not my thing.

I also do well with older kids. I love people, but I can be a little unsure when there are sudden movements or surprise faces right in front of mine. Kids 8 and older who understand dog manners are my kind of people.

I do have one special talent: if left alone in a yard with a 4-foot fence, I may occasionally decide to expand my horizons. The good news is that if you're outside with me, I'm perfectly happy hanging out by your side. After all, I'd rather be with my people than anywhere else.

My dream home includes a family who loves walks, a comfy couch, plenty of affection, maybe a female dog friend, a tall yard fence is preferred, and humans who appreciate daily smiles and occasional silliness.

Here's the thing about me: I'm not just looking for a home.

I'm looking for my people.

The ones who will laugh when I carry my toys around like prized possessions. The ones who don't mind a giant shadow following them from room to room. The ones who understand that happiness can have floppy ears, a goofy grin, and four paws.

If you choose me, I promise to fill your days with laughter, companionship, and more love than you thought an 85-pound dog could hold.

And trust me...

It's a lot.
