Riddle's Story

Meet Riddle: A Gentle Soul with a Heart of Gold

Riddle is a sweet, soulful dog who deserves a second chance at a loving home. Rescued from Memphis Animal Shelter just in time, Riddle was initially misunderstood due to his scars, with shelter staff fearing he had been involved in dog fighting. But after a temperament test, it was clear that Riddle is a gentle, shy boy who prefers to keep to himself and avoid conflict.

Now between 7 and 8 years old, Riddle has undergone heartworm treatment and is in good health, ready for a quiet, loving home. He’s a total sweetheart who would love nothing more than to be a lap dog. His favorite spot is the loveseat, where he sneaks a few moments of relaxation before heading to his kennel. Though shy at first when meeting new people, Riddle quickly warms up and becomes your loyal best friend.

Quiet and well-behaved, Riddle spends most of his day peacefully in his kennel, only getting excited when it’s time for his meals. With his soulful eyes and gentle demeanor, he’s a dog that will melt your heart.

If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who just wants to share love and cuddles, Riddle is the perfect match.

If you would like to be considered for adoption, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.heartsofgoldpitrescue.com.

Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our goal is to match you with a dog that is compatible with your family and lifestyle. Choices for a long-term animal companion should not be made based solely on looks. The temperament and energy level of the dog in question must be taken into consideration. Other Dogs? If you have another animal companion, you must take the extra effort required to match the personality of your resident dog with the personality of the dog you are wishing to adopt. This compatible match takes time and research – one size does not fit all; dogs have very individual needs and personalities. Type of Dog for You? Please consider your energy level, time constraints and space while considering adoption. If you do not have the time to train a puppy, consider an adult dog. If you live in an apartment or do not have a fenced yard, consider the time required to provide adequate exercise for your dog. In snowy, sunny and rainy weather, your dog will still need exercise. If you have never had a dog, consider fostering before making a commitment to adopt.
