After spending his entire life in an overcrowded environment with many other dogs, Rico will have a lot of new experiences ahead of him.

Like many of the dogs coming from this situation, Rico is very shy and unsure of anything new. He will likely need some time to feel safe, build confidence, and warm up to his new people. His new family should be prepared to let him settle in at his own pace rather than expecting him to immediately be comfortable in a new environment.

Rico will also need help learning the basics of being a house dog. Potty training, crate training, and leash walking are unknown, so his foster or adopter should be patient and willing to teach him these skills. He has lived with many other dogs and may benefit from having a friendly, confident dog around as he learns to navigate his new life.

Rico is looking for someone who understands that his first few days or weeks may be an adjustment. He may need extra patience, reassurance, and plenty of time to come out of his shell. Once he realizes that he is safe and loved, we hope to see this little guy begin to gain confidence and enjoy all the things he has been missing.

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Weight: 8.5 lbs
Breed: Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix
Spayed/Neutered:Yes
Potty Trained: Unsure
Crate Trained: Unsure
Leash Manners: Unsure
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Unsure
Good with Kids: Unsure

Rico deserves the chance to leave the only life he has ever known and discover how wonderful life can be with a family to call his own.
