Rico's Story

ID 60036212

Meet Rico! This chocolate colored guy of 3 yrs of age was a surrender and he started out shelter life scared, unsettled, and looking for his home that he lost.
He needed time to warm up to volunteers, to go outside , and to feel safe even in the stress of the shelter. He will look so much more handsome in a home with good food, less stress, and a comfy place to rest. His skin/coat needs some extra TLC and the shelter isn’t the place, a few added pounds would probably benefit him as well.

Rico was recently at 2 busy events and was so well behaved around lots of other dogs and people.

Rico knows sit, paw and loves treats for reward. He also enjoys pets of praise and has shown he likes slow approaches at times when he meets someone brand new. Even though Rico has succumb to shelter life, he does not enjoy the chaos.

Rico passed his initial dog/dog assessment but did show that he would need slow introductions. A dog with too much energy or one that comes right into his space might not be the best fit. It’s ok, we all have our own ways of being introduced to new people! Dogs feel the same way.

If you can give Rico a place to decompress, to feel safe, to unwind and feel comfy, come on down and meet him.
