Ricky Bobby

Ricky Bobby is a large, handsome black lab mix, who is about four years old. Despite being badly treated in his previous life, he has been nothing but friendly with the staff members and volunteers who have cared for him at HES. A rather independent boy, he enjoys slow walks with plenty of time to sniff and explore. He walks easily on a leash and checks in frequently with his walkers. Because of his sometimes excited greetings, he would do best in a home with older children who could help with his training and exercise. He does not seem to enjoy being with other dogs but would be a good companion for people who can give him a rather calm, stable home (with a big, comfortable bed?) and who will join him for leisurely hikes and lawn inspections.
