Richie's Story
Meet Richie, the sweetest little 8week-old chihuahua mix with the softest golden-and-white coat and the biggest, most loving eyes. He’s the kind of puppy who makes you smile just by looking at him — curious, cuddly, and full of puppy charm.

Richie’s story didn’t start in a shelter. He and his family were lovingly surrendered by their previous owners when they could no longer care for or afford to feed them. Thankfully, they reached out for help, and this little family has been thriving ever since in a safe, happy foster home.

Richie’s mom is a petite 7 lbs, and while we don’t know who dad was, Richie currently weighs about 2.5 lbs and is expected to grow to around
8lbs full grown. He’s a perfect little blend of sweetness and playfulness — gentle when he’s sleepy and downright goofy when he’s awake. He loves to wrestle with his littermates, follow his foster around the house, and snuggle up for naps.

Because Richie is still such a young pup, he’ll need a home with another friendly dog to help teach him confidence and manners. He’s not suited for apartment living or long workdays — he’s still a baby and will need someone with a flexible schedule who can be home often. He’s learning the basics of crate training, potty training, and good puppy manners, but he’s still an infant — so expect plenty of patience, early mornings, and a whole lot of cuteness in return.

Raising a puppy like Richie is full of joy, laughter, and love — but also takes time, consistency, and understanding. He’s truly a blank slate waiting for the right person to guide him as he grows into the best little companion.

Over the next two months, Richie will be finishing his puppy vaccine series, so he cannot go out in public or walk on shared surfaces (like parks, sidewalks, or pet stores) until he’s fully vaccinated. For now, his exploring will need to stay indoors or in a private, disinfected yard.

Richie will be ready for adoption by mid-November and will be neutered and up to date on his age-appropriate vaccines.

If you’re ready for a lifetime of puppy kisses, wagging tails, and unconditional love — Richie might just be your boy.

First Step Is To Apply Now
[Apply Now](http://form.jotform.com/underdogca/dog-adoption-application)
For application updates, forwarding requests, or any questions, contact us at adopt@underdogca.com.
