Richard

Please meet Richie, a handome and very loyal seven-year-old Lab and Shepherd mix who is searching for a peaceful, adult-only home where he can be your one-and-only. For the past seven years, Richie has known nothing but love, annual vet care, and premium food, having grown into a wonderfully independent, perfectly house-trained companion who is fully trusted with free roam of the house. He is a gentle soul who loves chasing toys outside, greeting his favorite people at the door, and spending his afternoons happily napping in warm sunbeams. While he isn't a "velcro" dog, Richie does seek out meaningful affection from his family, but is generally happy just to be close to where you are (loves a comfy bed in the same room as his favorite humans).

Recently, Richie's world changed when his family welcomed a new baby. All that comes with a new and tiny human has been overwhelming for him, leading his heartbroken owners to make the deeply selfless choice to find him a calmer environment, similar to what he has enjoyed for the past 7 years. Because of his protective Shepherd roots, Richie can be watchful of strangers and will bark at other dogs on walks out of love for his people, but he is incredibly smart and highly amenable to training. He is looking to bond deeply with a patient owner or couple who can offer him the quiet, child-free sanctuary he has been accustomed to.

If you are ready to open your heart to a loyal best friend who has so much love left to give in a peaceful space, Richie is waiting to meet you - please complete an application to learn more about Richie today!

Adoption fee includes the following:

Spay/Neuter
Rabies Vaccination
Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies)
Bordetella
Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration
