Rhoda's Story

Hi
I'm Rhoda.
I'm a shy dog. I need someone who will advocate for me and be patient with me. If you provide this-i will become the best version of myself in time.
A little about me. I'm around a year old and I weigh 40 lbs.
I was rescued from the shelter which was an absolutely terrifying place for me-it paralyzed me.
the shelter euthanasia listed me but the rescue folks felt like they could help me so they scooped me off and took me to a foster home (well, a vet first).
Everything is new to me and it feels to my foster that I likely spent the first part of my life living very sheltered without any human or outside socialization.
I am great with dogs and I actually really like people-especially my foster mom-but she goes super slow with me and doesn't ask a lot of me. I appreciate that. I follow her around the back yard and give her legs secret kisses which she finds endearing.
An ideal home for me is with an adult-kids are a lot of noise and energy which won't help me build my confidence. sorry kids! not personal.
I would be fine with a cat friend but a dog pal who is balanced will really help me grow.
I LOVE walks and actually walk nicely-with a dog pal :)

I am fully crate trained. wanna be besties? Team weirdo for life, baby!!!
please note
All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application
looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs. If you apply from out of state we do request you come to Los Angeles to meet us and fly home in cabin or drive.
www.apurposefulrescue.org
