Rhea's Story

Rhea is a 1.5 year old, 60 lb GSD mix who was recently surrendered to UCC.
Rhea is smart, affectionate, and athletic. She is gentle and has a medium energy level, she loves to explore with her nose, loves to play fetch, play in the pool and is just happy to hang out and relax. She knows some basic commands, is house trained, is crate trained but does best when not kenneled for long hours. She bonds quickly, and swiftly becomes a little shadow. Rhea would do best with someone that works from home, or is not gone for more than a few hours, and has a fence as she will chase birds in the yard. She was reported to do well with dogs from her previous owners, but we have not dog tested her at this time bc she's still super new. She did show very cautious/ reserved/respectful interest in the cats and preferred to avoid them. Rhea would do best in a home with gentle respectful but durable children. Ray has enormous potential and is eager to please. If you are experienced with the breed and are thinking about opening your heart and home to a dog in need consider this absolutely lovely lady !!!

If you are interested in adopting a UCC dog in need please visit our website www.ulstercountycanines.com to submit an adoption application.
UCC offers discounted access to after adoption services for our adopted alumni such as: Dog boarding, Day Care, Free access to our Private Dog Park, Low Cost Veterinary Wellness Vaccine Clinic and more!!
Please read through our website prior to the application for information on adoption fees, who we are what we do and how you can help!!!
